There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later. Really bad. It was much worse than I imagined. I've played all of the CSI games and they all had their varying degrees of issues, but overall were fun games that let you become immersed in the CSI world for a short time. This game is the standout exception. If CSI: NY had been a promotional game available to play on the Web site or for free download, there would be no complaints, because that's the overall feel of the game, and that's what they should have done with the game.
As it stands, the design of the game in no way matches the target demographic of the TV show, as would be expected by any reasonable person designing a video game based on a crime show. Also, they had to know that the majority of people ordering this game had probably already played the other CSI games and would be expecting a similar type of game experience. Instead of the immersive 3D experience of the previous CSI games, with characters that talk and move and full panoramic view of the scene; here the characters show up as still images in a window next to their speech, and the scenes are flat backgrounds with no animation.
Instead of the point and click concept of the other CSI games, where you search the scene for hard to find clues, here it is the "Hidden Object" style where you are given a list of completely random objects to look for in the scene, that may or may not have anything to do with the crime. This in itself is annoying because the objects are all cartoony images with a bold outline that are easily visible at a glance that you can just quickly click on and move on without referencing the provided list.
There are too many other problems to list, and I've already spent more time and energy on this game than I should have, but I had to write a review to express my views and warn others to not waste even the few bucks this crap is currently selling for. Grade: F. The game works perfectly on Win 10, have no problems at all. As a fan of CSI not just NY although the latter was my Fav, this game comes so close to actually being there,except for a few minor things.
My nephew and I are big CSI fans and we enjoyed all the previous games. We were really looking forward to the release of this new game. Usually we play against each other to see who can solve the case first and who gets the higher ranking. The grahics got better and the investigating got tougher with each new game. It feels like a cheap, watered down version of a game we were looking forward to playing.
The graphics are poor. The dialogue is fed to you so you almost can't fail to ask all the right questions. The evidence to be gathered is like finding the hidden items in one of thase kids games where you find Waldo. There is very little forensics and what is there is pretty much given to you on a silver platter. There is little reason to ask for help because the game is so easy. And worst of all, the bonus game doesn't yet exist. It's "coming soon".
All in all, if you liked the five previous CSI games, you'll be disappointed in this one. We were. This CSI game was only semi like the other ones. It seemed like it was designed more for children and reminded me of the puzzles in the Highlights magazine where the concentration seemed to be more directed on finding silly things rather then solving the crime.
Was very disappointed and never even finished the game due to its childlike features. This is not a reflection on the seller I purchased the game from, it is simply a review of the game. The rating for this game, though it is very authentic and realistic and still awesome. However, Ubisoft in their programming have erred in that when you access the game while online, you will get the latest update, but will not be able to get the bonus crime scene promised within the software as the software upgrade, somehow, disallows it.
This game was a sham. I loved the CSI series of games until I got this one. It may as well have been a random hidden object video game with some random title. I was very disappointed and I have thrown it in the garbage. It's not even worth reselling or sending it back for a refund. I would not recommend this game to anyone expecting a true CSI video game experience like all of the others.
